Our home page is currently under construction, please check back for more updates ![]() Maranatha Family, Hello everyone. I know many of you either by name or by face from Maranatha events and activities. I would enjoy meeting the rest of you especially in my new role as the chairman of the school board, So to start the introductions: my name is Mark Schultze. My wife is Cindy and I have one daughter, Rachel, who is a senior at K-State and an alum of Maranatha. I also coach the Maranatha High School Girls' basketball teams. I have served on the school board for two years, and I believe God's Word that says in Proverbs 15:22 "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." So as chairman, I will encourage the school board and our school administration (they already make this a practice) to keep you informed and to seek your counsel on school matters. Many of the mechanisms are already in place and functioning: newsletters, phone alerts, emails, surveys and forums. I plan to add a periodic communication from the school board's perspective. I plan to use newsletters, a blog http://www.maranathachairman.blogspot.com/ and emails to share what the Board is focusing on and what we believe the Lord's plans are for the school. I would encourage you, in turn, to reach out to me and the school board members with thoughts, suggestions and wise counsel so that we can be used by God to grow His work in our school. We will continue to give you surveys and forums to connect with us, but come to school events, and if you see us, visit with us about what God has laid on your heart about the school. Remember that these communications are not to replace or usurp the administration's responsibilities to address parent concerns, resolve student issues or other problems. This is to help us as we shepherd the school from an oversight perspective, so specific day-to-day issues will be directed to the administration. One event that concerns a facet of Maranatha that is close to my heart is coming up soon. That facet is finances. I am on the Finance Committee and have witnessed some of the struggles of making ends meet for the school budget. But God has been good and He has kept the doors open in spite of the challenges. Since our budget is almost soley based on tuition, your financial well being and commitment to the Christian education of your children is of interest to us. I am making that a personal concern by hosting a free Estate Planning seminar in my home for Maranatha families on Saturday, August 21st from 8:30 to 11:30am. My wife Cindy and I would love to have you come and hear some important financial counsel. We have room to host about 12 people, so don't wait to let us know if you would like to come. I hope you will leverage this time as well to give us your counsel about Maranatha. You can express your interest in the seminar via email or calling/texting me at 913-645-8901. In Christ, Mark Schultze P.S. Make it a practice to pray for the school. Now is a good time to pray for all the families making the decisions about where to send their children this upcoming school year. Save Money and Help The SchoolSCRIP PROGRAM
Maranatha has begun the SCRIP program. When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for Maranatha.
Click below on SCRIP program for more information and to print off an order form. Or you can order online at www.glscrip.com. For more information contact Maranatha's SCRIP coordinator, Pam Laffler, at lafflerp@ma-kc.org.
